Hello and welcome, I’m Amelia.
I am an integrative counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have a degree in psychology and a masters degree in integrative counselling. I am currently completing a PhD relating to personal growth and creativity. Throughout my training, I have worked with clients for Mind, the NHS and Oakwood Psychology Services. I currently see clients in a private setting, all from very different backgrounds and walks of life.
Throughout my training I have worked with clients experiencing a broad range of issues including: abuse, anxiety, bereavement & loss, depression, existential issues, health-related issues, work-related stress, and low self-esteem. I also work with clients on things like personal development, personal growth, improving relationships, and spirituality.
I have experience of short-term, long-term and open-ended therapy. You are welcome to bring very specific, solution-focused issues to be worked on in the short-term. At the same time, issues which require exploration over a longer period of time are welcome too.
A lot of therapists will agree that the therapeutic relationship (the relationship between you and your therapist) is the most important element of therapy, it’s therefore important to choose a therapist who feels right for you. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to give you chance to decide whether you’d like to work with me.
